Let’s take a look at what’s making the headlines on KCLR and Scoreline for Wednesday, November 9th, 2022.

CAMOGIE

The much-anticipated Teams of the Year and Player of the Year nominees for the Kilkenny club championships have been revealed.

Candidates for the Camán Caint adult junior, intermediate, and senior teams of the year were announced on our camogie podcast last night and there’s plenty of competition for places this year.

You can hear all the nominees and arguments for each player on the podcast – out now on scoreline.ie

Voting will be split between a judges vote and a public vote and we’ll be throwing the lines open this coming Thursday morning with a live awards show to come in the next few weeks

In the Junior Football Division 4 League round 3 clashes with Thurles, SETU fell by a scoreline of 1-07 to 1-15. There was more joy in the Fresher Football Division 2 League Rd 3 tie with Maynooth, winning on a convincing scoreline of 2.14 to 8 points.

Last night saw the first of two rounds of Cumann na mBunscoil finals in Carlow with St. Brigids National School in Grange among the winners.

They picked up wins over Ballinabranna National School and Ballyconnell National School to ‘do the double’ at the Netwatch Training Centre in Fenagh.

Tonight it’s the turn of the Girls and Boys Divisions 1 and 3 finals with Ballon and Scoil Mhuire Gan Small first out at a quarter past six.

It’s a great occasion for the schools, pupils, parents, and families and we’re wishing them all the best for this evening’s games.
