Scoreline Morning Report

Let’s take a look at some of the stories making the headlines for Scoreline and KCLR on Friday 18 November.

Clonmore and Mullinavat hoping to make history

There are two live games on KCLR tomorrow afternoon.

At 1pm on our Carlow frequency, Clonmore take on Meath side Castletown in the semi-final of the Leinster Junior Football Championship.

Ciarán Walsh’s men battled past Straffan in the last round and will be hoping to prolong an impressive season for the club that has brought with it Junior A and Junior C county titles.

Coverage of that game is with thanks to Woodside Garden Products.

At 1.30pm on our Kilkenny frequency, Mullinavat face Wexford’s Fethard St Mogues in the last-four of the Leinster Intermediate Football Championship.

That game, which takes place in John Locke Park in Callan, is kindly sponsored by Mullhern’s Centra Mullinavat.

Schools’ success

Yesterday, Castlecomer Community School secured their place in the final of the Leinster post primary school Junior A1 Hurling Championship following a 6-17 to 3-03 victory against Colaiste Eoin in a one-sided semi-final.

In Division 2 of the Higher Education Fresher Football League, SETU Carlow lost by 1-13 to 1-10 to Mary Immaculate College in the quarter-final.

The college’s camogie side secured the CCAO Camogie Division 2 League with a 1-09 to 1-08 victory over UL B.

U20 Football

There is one game tonight in the Stryve Under 20 Carlow football championship.

Ballon are at home to Fenagh 8.30pm in the B championship.

Tinryland’s quarter-final clash with Asca, which was due to take place this evening, has been postponed due to bereavements in both clubs.

Damaging defeat for Kenny

Ireland suffered defeat in their final home game of the year last night as Norway came away from the Aviva Stadium with a 2-1 victory.

Stephen Kenny’s side will take on Malta on Sunday in their final game of 2022.

All eyes on Qatar

The FIFA World Cup also gets underway on Sunday with hosts Qatar taking on Ecuador at 4pm.

Tector starts for Leinster

Leinster face Chile in a friendly at Energia Park today.

Kick-off is 2pm and former Kilkenny College student Charlie Tector starts for the province.

Duel in Dubai

Rory McIlroy has moved to 2 under par for the tournament through 6 holes of his second round at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

English pair Tyrrell Hatton and Matt Fitzpatrick share top spot on 7 under.

Shane Lowry is 1 over par playing the 11th hole.
