A number of games in the Carlow and District Football League, Carlow and District Juvenile League, and the Kilkenny and District Soccer League have been cancelled this weekend due to recent weather conditions.
All Carlow and District Football League fixtures due to take place on Saturday and Sunday are off.
In a statement, the CDFL said that the games were cancelled on “health and safety grounds.”
“All this weekend’s Carlow league fixtures are postponed on health and safety grounds including Friday’s Premier League games, all youths games on Saturday, and all games Sunday,” the statement read.
The Carlow and District Juvenile League has also decided not to go ahead with any games across the weekend.
Meanwhile, in Kilkenny, the KDL has opted against cancelling all games.
In a statement released on Friday evening, they said: “Lots of games are cancelled for Saturday. All U10 games, all games before 12 pm
and all SFAI games are off.
“Other games are dependent on referee and ground inspections.”
Most of Saturday’s action has fallen foul of the freezing-cold conditions.
Games are still set to take place in the Schoolgirls U14 St Canice’s Credit Union Division 2 League, the Schoolboys U12 Divisions 1A, 2 and 2A, the Schoolboys U14 Divisions 1 and 2, the Schoolboys U16 Divisions 1 and 2 and the Schoolboys U19 Division 1A.
All of Sunday’s games are set to go ahead with the exception of Bridge United’s clash with St Michael’s Boys in the SFAI U12 Sketchers Cup Trophy.
