Tonight sees a double-header for the Technological University’s footballers and hurlers.
At 6 pm on the main campus they’ll host MTU Kerry in the second round of the Sigerson Cup while at 7.45 pm, Carlow’s hurlers get their Fitzgibbon Cup campaign started with the visit of Mary Immaculate Limerick.

SETU Carlow has been drawn in group B of the Fitzgibbon Cup alongside Mary Immaculate and DCU. This means Kilkenny and Shamrock’s supremo Adrian Mullen won’t get much rest period between the All-Ireland final versus Dunloy and DCU’s first outing in the Fitzgibbon against Mary immaculate.
“It is on the 25th, three days after the club All-Ireland final, so I have not thought about it too much. Obviously, I have the club All Ireland to look forward to, but I will look forward to traveling down to Limerick to play Mary immaculate. We have played them down through the years and it is always a tough place to go. “
“You have to take each game as it comes, so the way it works is the club All Ireland comes before, that is the reason I have not thought too much into the Fitzgibbon, you just have to take each game as it comes.”

Mullen will face familiar tough opposition when he faces off with SETU Carlow, which boasts Eoin Cody. Cody is not just a teammate on the intercounty and club level but is also a fellow Young Hurler of the Year. When asked if he ever went up against his club mate Mullen replied;
“Only in training, that will be a nice interesting one. “
