Ireland captain Johnny Sexton says he expects France to engage in mind games ahead of Saturday’s rugby union Six Nations match in Dublin.
Two years ago, a doctor brought up the former Racing 92 fly-half’s concussion record – which was described as “highly inappropriate”.
Sexton’s had to come through a head injury assessment to play this weekend’s game, too.
He wouldn’t be surprised if there were more dirty tricks from the champions.
“Often something comes out of the woodwork for me, in the French week. So I am expecting something later in the week.”
“I still have that memory as a kid of France coming and demolishing Ireland, so I probably naturally feel like an underdog at my age. Perhaps some of the younger lads don’t. “
Scrum-half Conor Murray and hooker Dan Sheehan have emerged as injury doubts ahead of the Ireland team naming for Saturday’s Six Nations match with France in Dublin.
Head coach Andy Farrell announces his selection later, with Craig Casey and Rob Herring on standby to step up.
France coach Fabien Galthie is expected to name the same 15 which beat Italy last weekend.
