Tipperary v Kilkenny: How the teams could line out for Dillon Quirke Foundation fundraising game

Kilkenny and Tipperary are putting their rivalries aside for a great cause this weekend as the teams head to FBD Semple Stadium for a fundraising game in aid of the Dillon Quirke Foundation.

The entire GAA community was shocked at the passing of Dillon from SADS (sudden adult death syndrome), having collapsed during a game at FBD Semple Stadium last August. On Sunday afternoon, Dillon’s memory will be honoured and all proceeds raised from the game will go towards the development of a cardiac screening programme for every GAA player from the age of 12 upwards.

To get things underway, two of the biggest names in hurling history will meet for the second time in a fortnight, this time without the constraints or pressures of league or championship hurling.

As such, extended lineups featuring over 40 players per county have been named ahead of Sunday, a game that you can catch in full on KCLR. If you are unable to travel to the game and wish to lend your support to the work of the foundation, you can do so by buying a non-attendance ticket here – the same link will get you match tickets to attend in person. Tickets are priced €20.

The Tipperary Supporters Club ‘Hurler of the Year’ 2022 trophy and the Tony Reddin Perpetual Cup will be presented to Dan and Hazel Quirke at half time during Sunday’s game.

Both teams feature a number of players yet to line out for their counties in either pre-season or hurling league action. Lineouts are subject to change on the day.
