St. Kieran’s College are putting the finishing touches on preparations for this Friday’s trip to Croke Park.

They face Presentation College Athenry to decide this year’s Masita GAA Post-Primary School’s Croke Cup Final where they’ll be contesting their eighth consecutive All-Ireland final.

Of the previous seven, Kieran’s have won five and were beaten last year by Ardscoil Rís of Limerick. While they’re enjoying a good run under Kilkenny senior camogie manager Brian Dowling, he was quick to pay tribute to those who have gone before him in recent years;

“It is a great record all right, Tom Hogan was there before us and did some great work the last couple of years with Kierans getting too many All Irelands.”

“We want to go one step further this year, we were very disappointed last year. Ardscoil Rís, they are a very good team and we probably didn’t play as well as we could that day.”

“There are some lads left involved this year so we will be hoping to put it right on St. Patricks Day.”
