It’s a busy weekend on the Carlow front with the county’s footballers bringing their league run to an end and Tullow’s rugby team hoping to secure promotion to the top-tier of the Leinster League.

It all starts at 5.30pm on Saturday evening as an underwhelming Allianz National Football League Division 4 campaign reaches its endpoint in Chadwicks Wexford Park.

Niall Carew’s charges must defeat Wexford if they are to overtake their hosts and seal a fifth place finish.

We’ll have full live commentary of that game on KCLR from 5.30pm with Brendan Hennessy and Willie Quinlan on duty.

Attention turns to rugby on Sunday as Tullow hope to claim Division 1B of the Leinster League and clinch promotion in the process.

They take on Cill Dara on Sunday at 3pm with full commentary of that season-defining encounter on our Carlow frequency.

With competitions drawing to a close this weekend, we’ll be there to see if they end in success or despair.
