This Saturday at 4 pm on KCLR’s Scoreline, you can hear the full interview with former Kilkenny goalkeeper David Herity.

The Kildare manager looks ahead to his side’s league final clash with Offaly on Sunday, gives his thoughts on Kilkenny’s hopes of winning a first piece of silverware when they take on Limerick in the Division 1 decider next month, and gives his opinion on the different styles of hurling in the modern game.

Looking ahead to the upcoming league final the five-time All-Ireland winner with Kilkenny, Herity has been quite impressed with Derek Lyng’s tenure so far;

“The fact he played most of the season without the Ballyhale lads, the fact he still has them to come back. He has used up a lot of players in the league. Physically they look to be in incredible shape”

“I popped into the Cork and Dublin game and they look so physically developed than even the teams I was lucky enough to play on. It is chalk and cheese where their strength and condition have gone to. I thought they completely bullied Cork last Sunday, tactically they completely destroyed Dublin.”

“He seems to have built a nice squad for himself. There is a lot of competition for places because it is very difficult to know who will be playing on the Kilkenny team. I suppose that is the only small thing you would slightly worry about, does they know who his best 15 is?”

“He will see that by playing against Limerick. That is the great thing about playing Limerick in a final, is that you will know exactly where you are at. They will go out to try and win a competition as they always do.”

That’s this Saturday at 4pm on KCLR and remember, KCLR is the only place where you can hear all of Kilkenny’s Allianz National Hurling League, Leinster championship and All-Ireland series games in 2023.
