The draw for the quarter-finals of the KCLR McCalmont Cup took place on KCLR’s Scoreline on Sunday afternoon as the competition enters its latter stages.
The biggest surprise so far has seen holders Evergreen crash out at the hands of Fort Rangers.
Should they get the better of Freebooters on April 16th in the only remaining last-16 tie, they will face a trip to Bridge United. (Update Freebooters advanced after a 3 nil win)
Premier Division pair Callan United and Thomastown United will go head-to-head for a place in the semi-finals, with Thomastown hoping to go one-step further than 2022 and claim victory in this year’s final.
The lowest ranked team left in the competition, Evergreen 46, welcome promotion chasing First Division outfit Highview Athletic to Evergreen Park.
Rathdowney’s Clover United face a trip to Castlecomer to take on Deen Celtic.
The final week of April is the proposed date for the quarter-finals, with mid-May being touted for the semi-finals.
