Carlow have claimed the first piece of silverware of the season following a a one-point defeat of Armagh on Saturday afternoon in the final of the Very Camogie League Division 3A.
It’s a historical victory for Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere’s side as they look to maintain their strong performances for the duration of the championship.
The Ulster county raced into an early two-point lead but Carlow took control of the first half with a cluster of points giving them a 0-05 to 0-03 lead at half-time.
Armagh wrestled back control of a close encounter throughout an attritional second half and moved into a 0-07 to 0-06 lead as the game entered its final stages.
The Barrowsiders refused to relent however, and two late points secured an incredible victory for them.
