MIXED RESULTS FOR THE CATS
The fallout from Sunday’s Leinster championship game between Kilkenny and Galway continues this morning.
Late scores from substitutes Liam Collins and Declan McLoughlin saw Galway salvage a 0-28 to 1-25 draw at UPMC Nowlan Park.
Having led by six points in the second half, manager Derek Lyng admitted that the result felt like a defeat.
Antrim are up next for Kilkenny next Sunday with that game forming part of a double header with the Carlow hurlers also out in action in the Joe McDonagh Cup on the same day.
Yesterday saw Kilkenny overcome Wexford to advance to Leinster Minor Hurling Championship final in a 1-18 to 17-point victory.
A late first-half goal from Brian Moore proved to be the key moment in an intense encounter as Niall Bergin’s side secured a rematch with Galway in the decider.
