Tom Mullally’s Carlow side secured themselves an appearance in Croke Park in two weeks’ time thanks to a 1-29 to 0-14 win over Offaly on Saturday.

They remain unbeaten after getting the better of a much-changed Offaly side Saturday evening in Netwatch Cullen Park. The final will be a repeat of that game but Offaly played things cleverly, making 11 changes to their starting lineup having already secured a place in the Joe McDonagh Cup decider.

Carlow still had to get the win though, and they did with plenty of room to spare.

Speaking to KCLR, Jack Kavanagh is looking forward to a final appearance but also has his eyes set on the All ireland series

“We are completely focused on Offaly. After that, no matter what way that goes, we will knuckle down and we will have a right good go at whoever may be there.

“Last time we played the Leinster Championship and in the league, we were very competitive. If we get a team in Leinster and Munster at home in Carlow, we will have a right go at it. We do not fear anybody, we have a good pool of players to compete against the top teams.”
