There’s a lighter load of live action this weekend on KCLR with the hurling season taking a well-earned break after some astonishingly enjoyable encounters to date.
Two of those games took place last weekend as Carlow claimed a memorable Joe McDonagh Cup final victory over Offaly after extra-time before Kilkenny secured their place in this month’s Leinster final despite a thrilling 4-23 to 5-18 defeat to Wexford.
This Saturday on KCLR’s Scoreline, we’ll be reflecting on Carlow and Kilkenny’s campaigns so far as well as looking ahead to crucial games for both counties in June.
From 2.30pm, we’ll be getting the thoughts of Carlow’s players and chairman on that famous win over Offaly.
Carlow GAA chairman Jim Bolger will be sharing his thoughts on an incredible experience for the entire county before we hear from goalkeeper Brian Tracey, captain Paul Doyle, star forward Marty Kavanagh and match winner Chris Nolan.
At 4pm, we switch our attention to Kilkenny as eight-time All-Ireland winner Aidan Fogarty reflects on Kilkenny’s championship to date, looks ahead to this month’s Leinster final between Derek Lyng’s side and Galway, and gives his take on the competitiveness of the Leinster championship in comparison to the Munster round-robin phase.
We’ll also be hearing from Michael Fennelly on his new role as Performance Lead with Kilkenny GAA and the coaching workshop that is taking place on June 10th.
