In a highly entertaining game, Naomh Eoin qualified for the Kilkenny junior hurling league final with a four point win over Mt. Leinster Rngs in Myshall in the semi-final yesterday evening.
Played in ideal conditions and setting, before a very large attendance the home side got off to a good start with goals from Ross Smithers and Kevin Foley in the opening ten minutes.
Chris Nolan opened Mt. Leinster Rngs account and the accurate Dennis Murphy kept tacking on points as his side trailed by five points at the break 2-8 to 0-9.
Naomh Eoin stretched their lead to nine points with a goal from Adam Kenny seven minutes in to the last period.
True to form Mt. Leinster Rngs rallied and cut the deficit to two points with a goal from Dennis Murphy, Naomh Eoin with stood the challenge and finished strong with two late points.
