Kilkenny Rugby Club are looking for applicants for a backs coach for their senior women’s team ahead of the start of the 2023/24 season.
With the growth of the division in the club, Kilkenny say they are “looking for an enthusiastic, driven backs coach” to work with the existing and new crop of players anticipated for their second stint in the Leinster League Women’s Division 4.
After a few years away, Kilkenny returned to Leinster League action two seasons ago, taking up residency in Division 5 and finishing with promotion to Division 4 by virtue of a second-placed finish.
Their 2022/23 campaign started strongly but some mixed results late on saw another second-place finish with Kilkenny losing out in a promotion-relegation playoff so ambitions are high in the group to keep moving up the ladder and continue the promotion chase for Division 3.
Per Kilkenny RFC, the key responsibilities of the new coach will be to lead the development of the back line, plan and deliver elements of training sessions, evaluate coaching sessions and matches to provide feedback, attend games and become an integral part of developing the women’s team at the Foulkstown club. A senior coaching award is preferable but not essential.

Changes at Carlow
Carlow too have made changes in recent days with Dave Barron appointed coach to Carlow Rugby Club for the 2023/24 season, assisted by Joe Bulmer who joins the ranks as forwards coach.
Despite a strong start, Carlow finished fourth in Division 1B of the Leinster League this past season, Tullow taking top honours.
Fixtures for this coming season’s Leinster League campaign will be released closer to the autumn.
