Dicksboro’s St Canice’s Credit Union Kilkenny Senior Hurling League campaign begins on Saturday when they face Clara at 4 o’clock in James Stephens’ GAA Grounds.
We’ll have live commentary of that game with thanks to Tyreland and speaking to Scoreline, Dicksboro manager Michael Walsh said that the key to success is peaking come championship time.
“You can go out and go for everything. It is hard to maintain that. Right from the start of this thing.”
“It is something I saw firsthand last year. You can certainly go for it at the start. It is so hard to maintain because every match is a dogfight. Every match is a struggle
“You can say what you like about league and championship. Everyone wants to win every game, and that will never change. Whatever way it works though you have to peak for Championship, that is all that matters at the end of the day.”

Walsh also gave an insight into how his team is preparing for their opening game against Clara this Saturday,
“I think we’re all really delighted that now it’s around the corner and we can get going again. That’s the big thing.”
“It’s a huge long run in and sometimes you’re finding it difficult because of different things. You could even see the difference in training this week that everybody’s back and rearing to go. It’s their time now and it’s around the corner and ready to go.”
It will be a blockbuster weekend of sport on KCLR, broadcasting five live games from the senior ranks, with updates and reports from the intermediate and junior ranks. The action begins this Friday night with Erins Own taking on Bennetsbridge.
