We’ll also be live from John Locke Park this Saturday at 4.30 pm when Ballyhale Shamrocks go up against Graigue Ballycallan.

The county champions will look to put behind their opening-round loss to Glenmore and draw with Erins Own, while Graigue Ballycallan will be hoping to build on last weekend’s win over Bennettsbridge, their first league win in nearly two years.

Speaking to KCLR Shamrocks All Ireland winning manager Pat Hoban said he is well aware that people think Shamrocks are there for the taking;

“You know, the word out there is that Shamrocks are weakened.”

“It’s great to have a championship that is that open. You know, I don’t fear for a moment that Ballyhale is gone away or anything like it.
I know that there is that dressing room at the moment, those guys have a lot of pride and they know how to win. So, we’re not gone away just yet.”

Looking at their opponents on Saturday, Hoban admitted to being quite impressed with Graigue’s performance against Bennettsbridge.

“So, Ballycallan had a great win (against Bennettsbridge) and they played some excellent hurling. More importantly, they showed a tremendous fight. Especially when they entered the second half and it looked like Bennettsbridge was going to push on. So, they’re coming in, two points in the bag so we’re expecting a really tough game.”

You can get a full rundown on KCLRS Kilkenny Hurling Podcast. Robbie Dowling and former Blacks and Whites manager Eddie Scally cast their eye over all the action from the weekend’s senior, intermediate, and junior league and championship games as well as looking ahead to the next round of action.
