GAA
The Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Kilkenny Intermediate Hurling Championship begins this weekend.
The first game on Saturday sees Rower Inistioge face Young Irelands at half past 2 in St John’s Park.
That game will be live on KCLR and speaking ahead of it, Rower Inistioge’s Tom Doyle gave an insight into how manager Thomas Gleason has approached the season so far.
Then at 5 p.m., Mooncoin face Blacks and Whites in Thomastown, while Conahy Shamrocks go up against O’Loughlin Gaels at the same time in Freshford.
Meanwhile, Blacks and Whites captain Paul Murphy has been speaking about his side’s return to the intermediate grade following their junior success last year.
At 5 p.m. on Sunday, we’ll be back in St John’s Park for the meeting of Carrickshock and Fenians.
Before that, we’ll be in UPMC Nowlan Park for the shield final between St Martin’s and Dunnamaggin from half past 12 before Thomastown and Lisdowney go head-to-head in the league final at quarter to 3.

Starting with the Revise.ie Under 19 Roinn C Hurling Championship Final, Glenmore faces off with Graignamenagh. That throws in at 6 p.n. in Inisitgoe
Then at 8 o’clock is the Revise.ie Under 19 Roinn A Hurling Championship Final, Dicksboro meets old rivals James Stephens in MW Hire Dunmore Park
In Carlow tonight it is all about the Junior Football Championship
Leighlinbridge GAA meets Ballon GFC in Paul Monaghan Park from 7
At 7.30 PM St Patrick’s play Mt Leinster Rangers and Asca face off with Palatine
While O’Hanrahans go up against Naomh Eoin from 8 p.m.
On the camogie front in case you missed it the draws for the league semi-finals of this year’s Kilkenny Camogie Club championship were made in the KCLR studios on Monday night.
On the senior side of things Dicksboro plays Windgap at 4.15 pm Saturday in Danesfort while James Stephens meets Piltown from 4.30 pm Saturday in Tullaroan.
On the Carlow side of things, the semi-final pairings for the Azap Print Senior Championship see Myshall face Muinebheag while Naomh Brid takes on St. Mullins. Both games will be played on Saturday 23 September at the Netwatch Training Centre in Fenagh.

The Republic of Ireland under 21’s made it two wins from two in Euro qualifying last night.
They beat San Marino 3-nil at Turner’s Cross.
Rocco Vata scored twice on his debut and Sinclair Armstrong grabbed the other goal.
At Hampden Park, England defeated Scotland 3-1 in a friendly with goals by Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane.
RUGBY
Ireland will continue their preparations today for Saturday’s Rugby World Cup game against Tonga in Nantes.
Jack Conan is still recovering from a foot injury and may not feature.
Golf
Ireland’s Shane Lowry hasn’t been listening to people who questioned his inclusion in the European Ryder Cup team.
Lowry was selected as a wildcard by captain Luke Donald last week for the matches against the USA in Rome in just over two weeks’ time.
After the call, the Offaly native tied for third place at the Irish Open.
David Buggy Motors Kilkenny Sports Star of the Month
Gowran Pitch and Putt clubman Jack McShane has been named David Buggy Motors Kilkenny Sports Star of the Month Award winner for the month of August.
Jack was crowned All Ireland U16 Strokeplay champion at the Seapoint course in Louth on August 26th.
Jack, who is 13 years old, put in a terrific performance against older juveniles to finish with a nine under par score for 36 holes and five shots clear of his nearest challenger.
