The Feile na Gael Hurling competition took place at the weekend and there was success for Ballinkillen as they edged out Mount Sion in the Division 3 Shield Final by 2-11 to 3-7 despite having trailed by 8 points in the early stages.
In the Camogie section Thomastown just missed out to Sarsfields of Cork in the Division 1 Final, while Myshall were also narrowly defeated by Naas in the Division 3 decider.
There was good news for Kilkenny sides in the handball section at the Feile as a Windgap team consisting of Jack Doyle, Owen O’Brien, Sean Barron and Padraig Foley won the Division 1 boys section.
Clogh Moneenroe were winners in the girls section, with Eva and Amy Brennan, Nicole Dowling, Lauren Power and Aisling Cooney forming the successful team
