In an interesting encounter Sunday, O’Loughlin Gaels emerged triumphant with a 2-16 to 0-13 victory over Mount Leinster Rangers, securing their spot in the Leinster Club Senior Hurling Championship semifinal.

Goals from Eoin Wall and Luke Hogan, one in each half, played a pivotal role in the Kilkenny champions’ success as they fended off a spirited second-half comeback from Carlow’s Mount Leinster Rangers.

O’Loughlin Gaels’ manager, Brian Hogan, expressed relief at advancing in the competition. Reflecting on the upcoming clash with Kilcormac Kiloughey later this month, Hogan acknowledged the challenge posed by the Offaly team, stating, “They are a fine side with good pedigree in the competition over the last number of years, so they will be serious competition.”

Hogan emphasized the eagerness of his team to continue their journey in the championship, saying, “It is great to look forward to another two weeks. Training and preparing for the next round was hanging over us. There was an opportunity to come back and meet up again for another two weeks or be done for the year, and no one wanted to be done for the year.”

Tickets for the upcoming clash against Kilcormac Kiloughey, as well as Thomastown’s Leinster intermediate hurling championship semifinals on November 25, are now available online. Thomastown will go up against Kildalkey of Meath, and it’s noted that all Leinster club fixtures require tickets to be purchased in advance.

In other senior quarter-final action, Dublin’s Na Fianna emerged victorious against Raharney of Westmeath with a final score of 1-24 to 0-19, securing their progression in the competition. Meanwhile, Naas of Kildare triumphed over Camross of Laois with a scoreline of 2-17 to 1-17 in a hard-fought encounter in the 2023 Leinster GAA AIB Senior Club Hurling Championship Quarter Final.
