Kilkenny athlete Eoin Everard is delighted that his persistence eventually paid off as he qualified for his major Championship at the European Seniors in Amsterdam next week.
The Kilkenny City Harriers man will run in the 1500m on Thursday July 7th.
Eoin achieved the qualifying time last Thursday, and he told KCLR that his performances last year helped in securing qualification….
“The European Qualification time is done on times. You have to run a certain time and I have ran quicker than John (Travers) this year and last year”
“I am absolutely delighted. This is my first major Athletics Championship that I will be going to. I have run World Student Games, and Junior competitions, but it’s funny, that I am 30-years-old now and I am going to my first one when I am working full-time so it just shows that persistence does paid off”
“If you stick to something and you apply yourself diligently to it, you will get the rewards eventually, you might just have to wait a few years”
