As anticipation builds for the upcoming Tailteann Cup, the first and second-round fixtures have been officially set, promising thrilling clashes and intense competition.
In Group 3, Carlow are bracing themselves to take on Fermanagh, Laois, and Wicklow, in what is expected to be a challenging journey to cup glory.
Kicking off the series, Laois will square off against their rivals Carlow this Sunday at 3 pm in Laois Hire O’Moore Park. Following closely on the heels of the opener, the Fermanagh game is next the following Saturday at 3 pm.
In a recent interview with KCLR, Jamie Clarke, a prominent player from Bagenalstown Gaels and Carlow, expressed confidence in his team’s ability to rise to the challenge. Reflecting on the journey ahead, Clarke remarked, “There was a lot of soul searching after the Leinster Championship. It’s a challenging draw but we fancy ourselves. We don’t have to travel too far, Laois is next. It’s always a good game-playing Laois. Especially the build-up to it, there is always a good buzz around.”
Details are awaited for the third-round clash against Wicklow, which is slated to take place at a neutral venue on the weekend of 1st/2nd June.
