The three local athletes are settling in in Rio ahead of the start of the games this weekend in Brazil.
Finn Lynch from Carlow will compete in the sailing, Kilkennys Arthur Lanigan O Keeffe is in the Modern Pentathlon and Ciara Everard goes in the 800 metres.
Ciara starts her campaign on Wednesday the 17th of August but was injured for 10 weeks in the run into the games which she says is far from ideal…..
You know these things happen, and you know that’s the life of an athletes and I suppose you just have to take the cards given to you and go with what you’ve got now at this stage.
No do you know I’m just so happy to be back in time, like it was touch and go for a long time, I’m really grateful just to have the opportunity and I’m just really excited for the experience, but I suppose for me It just going to be about getting out there.
