Carlow’s Premier Junior Camogie ladies made history yesterday in defeating Westmeath at Freshford to book a place in this year’s All-Ireland final alongside Kilkenny’s intermediate and senior sides.

Trailing Westmeath by two points at the break in normal time, already down to 14, Carlow pulled back to nine points apiece to force the game to extra time. And it was in that period of extra time that the game took on a whole new life with goals for both sides, Carlow at one point carving out a seven point lead before Westmeath clawed it back to a one score game.
