In the Michael Lyng Motors Senior Football Championship Group 1

Rathvilly became the first team to qualify for the 2016 semi-final with a 3-12 to 0-4 win over Kildavin-Clonegal at Netwatch Cullen Park yesterday.
Rathvilly finished top of the table on five points from three games.

The result from the game between Old Leighlin and Eire Og this evening will determine who gets second and third places, while Kildavin –Clonegal are in the relegation zone.

In Group 2
Palatine are in pole position to take top place but they have to get over Mt. Leinster Rngs on Sunday evening. If Mt. Leinster Rngs were to win and Tinryland overcome O’Hanrahans then all three teams will be level on four points each and scoring difference would come in to play.

However it’s hard to see the county champions Palatine slipping up

In the Talbot Hotel Intermediate football championship group 1

St. Andrews who are on four points at the moment look set to take a semi-final place when they take on Fenagh this evening in Netwatch Training Centre at 6-00 pm if Fenagh lose they are in the relegation zone.

Clonmore and the Fighting Cocks who play on Sunday evening at the same venue are battling for second and third places.

It’s not as straight forward in Group 2
Naomh Eoin and Grange meet this evening at 5-30 in Netwatch Cullen Park
Ballinabranna and Kilbride meet at the same venue on Sunday evening at 7-30.

This group seriously depends on results Grange who are on three points look a safe bet to get either a semi or quarterfinal place, and while Ballinabranna Naomh Eoin and Kilbride can qualify for a place, they also can find themselves in the relegation zone.

Each team must do it for themselves.
