With Kilkenny’s minor hurlers in All-Ireland Semi-Final action this weekend against Galway after last weekend’s nail-biting extra time, all senior, intermediate and junior club games were postponed for this coming weekend.
Colm Bonnar, selector with current Kilkenny county senior hurling champions Ballyhale Shamrocks, spoke to our news team earlier today suggesting it was the right move to cancel the games.
“Pats on the back” are likely if Kilkenny turn out to be double All-Ireland champions come 6 September, but were they right to postpone the intermediate and senior club games with players also looking for match fitness and sharpness – granted – while looking to remain injury free?
