Carlow RFC captain Ross Byrne says they will not take Newbridge lightly despite their opponents resting at the bottom bottom of Division 2A in the Leinster League having lost all five games so far this season.
Ross says that Sunday’s game was the sort of game they slipped up in last season.
“A couple of these games last year when we tripped ourselves up a little bit and didn’t get the points or the wins required, and that told at the end of the year so hopefully we can go out and we definetly won’t take Newbridge lightly and we have been planning for that and hopefully on Sunday the lads can go out and give another good performance”
Carlow themselves have had a bit of a mixed start to the season but edged the form book in their favour on Sunday last with a good, if somewhat scrappy, win over Roscrea in Streamstown.
Carlow and Newbridge kick off at 2.30pm this Sunday.
We’ll have a full preview of this weekend’s Leinster League games with Ken on Friday morning.
