Carlow Senior Hurling Manager Colm Bonnar says that January is all about putting in the hard work to get up to match fitness ahead of the start of the National League.
Speaking to KCLR after the Walsh Cup opener, Colm says a tough month lies ahead.
“We have a bit of work to do. Every game we play we need to learn and we need to bring our game up. January is about putting in the hard work, getting yourself to match fitness and getting ready for the first round of the National League. We are up against probably the toughest game we will have away to Westmeath so coming up to Parnell Park(to play Dublin) is good preparation for the likes of that. So yeah, it’s going to be a tough month, the players know that and they have a weekend down in Dungarvan so it’s going to be a tough weekend in terms of getting everything right, they are going to be with us for maybe 30-35 hours so we have a lot of work to get done with them and that will help us again with our preparation”
