Brian Cody’s charges were given a heroes welcome at Nowlan Park on Monday 7 September, returning to the Marble City with the Liam McCarthy in tow for the 36th time. We spent the afternoon in Nowlan Park, with music from Drops of Green, The Kilkenny and more before the players arrived out on stage close to 6.30pm.
The event, as in past years, was organised as a full civic reception by Kilkenny County Council. We’ll have some video highlights shortly but in the meantime, he’s a look at what was happening in Nowlan Park at Kilkenny’s Hurling Homecoming on Monday. The team will head to Ballyhale tonight, the Liam McCarthy in town, to continue the celebrations at the home club of 2015 captain Joey Holden.
