Three Realistic Shots At Leinster Glory In Store This Weekend

Carrickshock and Mooncoin will look to reach Croke Park on Sunday when they contest the All Ireland Intermediate and Junior Semi Finals respectively.

Mooncoin reached this stage after defeating Ratoath by 1-16 to 0-12 in the Leinster Final and they have tipped away in the training field over the festive period.

The Management has also had the opportunity to have a look at Sunday’s opposition Lámh Dhearg and Manager Joe Murphy says that they will not be taking them for granted.

“We have seen Dvd’s of them in there County Final, we went to see them play in Trim last week in a challenge match after we got wind of it and I think we are going to be up against it. We didn’t have to go too far for challenges ourselves we played Lismore and Carrickshock and we got some good challenges there.”

Mooncoin have serious quality in their side with Cormac Fleming and Kevin Crowley appearing for Kilkenny in the Walsh Cup, while Eamon Hennebry has been a revelation at Full Forward, causing having to all his direct opponents.

If there’s one thing guaranteed this Sunday it’s that Lámh Dearg will make life difficult and last year Glenmore seen Ulster opposition first hand on All Ireland Final day when Eoghan Rúa of Coleraine pushed them all the way.

Nevertheless you would still expect Mooncoin to do the business.

Throw in is at 2pm in Trim on Sunday and we will have Live Reports From the game with thanks to Tennyson grass machinery your John Deere & Castelgarden lawnmower center for all your gardening needs, tennysonlawnmowers.ie

Verdict – Mooncoin

After surviving the fright of their lives in the Leinster Intermediate Final win over Celbridge, Carrickshock face an equally tricky assignment in London Champions Robert Emmetts at 1pm in O’Moore Park this Sunday.

The Londoners have been building and building and the fact that they were All Ireland Champions in 2007 before the influx of players arrived because of the recession echoes how strong they currently are with Carlow raider Daryl Roberts just one of the many imports.

They come into this game in high confidence and will fancy their chances against the Kilkenny lads.

Carrickshock manager Tommy Shefflin says if they’re not fully tuned in they will be in bother.

Speaking to KCLR, Tommy expects the London Club to be very difficult opponents.

“We definetly know what they are going to bring to us and the Antrim guys really put it up to them over there, and they are coming over here and we are probably put down as favourites, but they are going to really put it up to us so if we are not ready for that we are going to be in bother but hopefully it’s well drilled into lads.

“We will just focus on ourselves, we are not going to dwell on them. That’s out of our control, we will just do what we can do and hopefully the lads will just do what they have to do and get to the final”

Carrickshock as we all know at this stage have serious quality in their side with shed loads of Inter County experience and that factor alone will give them a huge advantage once again.

The names Dalton, Tennyson, Power and Rice are intimidating and Robert Emmetts will have to be at their almighty best while hoping for a below par Carrickshock performance in order to cause an upset, but I have a feeling Carrickshock have learned their lesson since the Celbridge game.

Verdict – Carrickshock
