Brian Cody says it’s a bit early to be reading too much into Kilkenny’s performances.
Speaking after yesterday’s one-point defeat to Waterford, Brian says they are experimenting somewhat as they are still short their full panel.
“I mean they had a small bit of a lead and they were determined to hold onto it obviously and understandably so, and a ball breaks one way and suddenly a man has it and he is up and he is driving forward, but look we were competitive to the end so I mean I certainly couldn’t fault our players on that score.
“Ah look it’s early days, it’s our first real competitive game, we had a few Walsh Cup matches and we don’t have our full panel available to us either at the moment, so we are looking at certain things and no one can read too much into what is happening, players have to flexible, players are flexible and that’s the way it is”
