Piltown trainer Joseph O’Brien threw no less than five darts at the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Handicap at Dundalk, and he hit the target in style as the Donnacha O’Brien-ridden Circus Ring proved two-and-a-quarter lengths too good in a race where the stable provided three of the first five home.
The son of Fastnet Rock made very good headway from mid-division to lead inside the final furlong and win going away very decisively from the staying-on Wingingit.
He looks likely to do well in three-year-old handicaps in the coming months.
