Tullow Rugby Club Head Coach Maurice Logue says that his coaching staff deserve immense credit for the work they did with the scrum as they qualified for the Towns Cup Final with victory over Ashbourne yesterday.
Speaking to KCLR, Maurice says that winning the scrum battle was a key component to yesterday’s victory.
“I think we panicked and we went back into our shell a bit and went away from what we wanted to do and then we ground out the result, but look I think there is a huge amount of credit has got to go to Ger O’Brien and Sean as well for what they did in the scrum because Ashbourne’s scrum is a huge source of possession for them and territory, they get a lot of penalties out of it and that was taken away from them and that gave us a really strong foothold in the game”
