Carlow GAA in partnership with IT Carlow are presenting ‘Uniting A County’, Carlow’s first coaching conference for hurling and football. The Haughton Building at the IT will host the event on Saturday 15 April from 10am to 3pm.

Carlow GAA Operations manager Ronan Dempsey says they have a hugely exciting day to look forward to for their Coaching Conference on Saturday week(Easter Sunday).

The Coaching Conference will feature Brian Cody and former Kilkenny selector Martin Fogarty, and speaking to KCLR Ronan says they have a top class line-up on show.

“Martin’s new role as Hurling Development Coordinator for the country will be working alongside our own Games Development Administrators (GDA) David Galway, Brendan Hayden and Stephen Poacher who is one of the most innovative coaches in Ireland at the moment.”

“They will be working alongside our own GDA’s Sean Gannon and Mick Kehoe on the football side of things, so it’s a hugely exciting morning. Then to finish the afternoon with Jim Gavin [makes] it a hugely exciting day.”

The Conference is the last piece of the Forum jigsaw which started over three years ago when over a hundred people with an interest in promoting and improving games in Carlow met for the first time in the Lord Bagenal Hotel in Leighlinbridge. All the points which arose out of subsequent meetings were addressed, this Coaching Conference is the last of these.
