Former Limerick Senior hurler Ger Hegarty says that Brian Cody will depart as Kilkenny manager if they win this years All-Ireland.
Speaking exclusively to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s League Semi-Finals, Ger says that Kilkenny will need to rebuild.
“I think this is going to be tough for Kilkenny, it’s going to be tougher than what it was over the last couple of years. I think Brian Cody and his team are going to have to find a couple of new kids coming through like what we are doing down here(in Limerick) but I would always respect Kilkenny.
“They are a marvelous county and for me whoever wins the All-Ireland is going to have beat Kilkenny, whoever wins the Sam Maguire is going to have to beat Kerry.
“My gut feeling would be that they won’t win the All-Ireland, they are going to have to rebuild, but whether he can squeeze another Liam McCarthy out of this group, I would go as far as to say, if he squeezes an All-Ireland this September, this would be his final.”
