The Kilkenny Senior Leagues kicked off this weekend and Danesfort provided a big shock with a 1-21 to 2-16 win over Clara.

O’Loughlin Gaels started their season with victory over St Martins in Castlecomer yesterday.

That one finished 2-20 to 1-8.

Paddy Deegan was a key player on the day and he told KCLR that it was a great team performance.

On Saturday in the Senior sections Erins Own defeated Mullinavat by 2-18 to 2-11, while Carrickshock and the Rower Inistioge played out an entertaining 1-18 a piece draw at Thomastown.

In the Intermediate league Fenians beat Graigue Ballycallan 2-13 to 1-10 while Young Irelands beat Lisdowney 1-16 to 1-13.

And in the Junior League, Conahy Shamrocks beat Piltown 1-22 to 2-16, while Galmoy were 5-18 to 0-09 points.

And on Friday night Glenmore beat Dunnamaggin by 1-15 to 1-12 in the Intermediate League while St Patricks edged out St Lachtains by 1-15 to 1-13.

John Lockes were comfortable winners over Gragnamanagh in the Junior League on Friday as well.
