The nominees are in for the 2017 David Buggy Motors Kilkenny Sport Star Awards for the month of April.

For the third time in eighteen months, Ann Downey’s charges collected some serious silverware this month, defeating Cork in the final of the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues Division 1 Final.

Losing out to Cork in the league proper, Kilkenny made it through the knockout stages to deliver another knockout blow to last year’s All-Ireland finalists on a 2-07 to 0-10 scoreline.

Marble City Hawks Marble City Hawks

Bouncing back from their Hula Hoops National Cup final defeat at the hands of Ulster Rockets, Kilkenny’s Marble City Hawks beat ITC Basketball (Carlow) to the Womens Division 1 Play-off with Kelly O’Hallahan picking up league Player of the Year in the process.

MC Hawks’ Katie Fox joined O’Hallahan on the All Stars First Team with Aine Sheehy slected for the All Star Third Team for 2017, capping a terrific conclusion to

City-based club Kilkenny City Harriers continue to develop athletes at all grades for track and field running events. The month the club were also behind the inaugural Streets of Kilkenny 5K event which welcomed over 400 runners to the city centre for a special event on Thursday 13 April.
