Rory McIlroy says a recent visit to Tiger Woods’ house has given him a fresh perspective on focusing on the major events.

15-time major champion Woods will not be playing at this week’s Masters at Augusta after he suffered injuries in a car accident in February.

This is the 85th edition of the Masters at Augusta National and gives the 31-year-old Northern Irishman an opportunity to complete the career Grand Slam.

It’s Rory’s 13th Masters and he says he learned a lot from Woods after seeing him at home recently.

“In his family room he’s got his trophy cabinet and it’s his 15 major trophies, and I said “that’s really cool, where are all the others and he said, “I don’t know”.

“He says, his mum has some, a few in the office and a few wherever, and I went on the drive home and I was thinking that that’s all he cared about, all he cared about, so how easy must that have felt to him to win all the others, so that’s like a cool perspective to have right?” said Rory.

On a recent visit to Tiger Woods’ home, Rory McIlroy was surprised to see 15 trophies on display in Tiger’s cabinet. McIlroy was even more surprised to learn that Woods knew little about the whereabouts of the others #rorymcilroy #themasters
