Joey Carbery could make his long-awaited return in a Munster jersey tomorrow as the southern province travel to Wales to face Cardiff Blues in the PRO14.
Carbery has been sidelined since January 2020 due to a long-term ankle injury he sustained in August 2019.
The talented number 10 did play for a period with Munster last season, but his game time was short lived due to his injury.
Despite this, the former Leinster man looks set for a return to on-field action this weekend as he has been listed amongst the replacements for Munster’s clash with Cardiff Blues.
Munster head coach Johann van Graan has rung the changes for his sides tie with the Blues. He makes six in total from the team that defeated Edinburgh last weekend, with Jack O’Sullivan, Calvin Nash, Rory Scannell, Kevin O’Byrne, Fineen Wycherley and Nick McCarthy being named in the starting lineup.
Winger Shane Daly has returned to the team for Friday night’s game (KO 8pm) after a brief spell training with the Ireland squad.
