Mark Power describes the last number of months as ‘a tough time’ for anyone involved with golf since the initial lockdown in March.
Golf has been one of the sports hit hardest by Covid-19’s impact on the sporting world that took full effect back in March. Power feels that that the recent closure of golf courses across the country is far from ideal for himself and his peers.
“Golf courses being closed for the next six weeks is going to be tough”, exclaimed Power who has been unable to attend college in the U.S. due to the pandemic.
Despite the severe consequences for golf of the virus spreading at a higher rate than ever before, Power said that his recent appearance at the Irish Open, where he made the cut and played alongside Irish golfing legend Padraig Harrington, was a ‘great bonus’ for him on a personal level.
“The invite to the Irish Open definitely made the last few months a bit nicer”, said Power as he looks forward to returning to university and the resumption of tournaments in January 2021.
