Former Kilkenny senior and minor hurler, Aidan “Taggy” Fogarty has welcomed the news that the Electric Ireland minor hurling and football championships are resuming.
Kilkenny are away to Wexford on the 20th of December with a 12.30pm throw in in the hurling semi finals.
He says says the return to play is a boost for players of that age grade.
“I think its great that it’s back, it’s great for their mental health, but the young guys are missing out on so much” said Aidan.
“They’ve missed out on graduations from schools, the first year of colleges, how that really feels, and they’ve also missed out on the championship during the year, there’s nothing better as a minor, going in with all your friends, playing hurling and playing off the cuff on a summers evening, there’s great camaraderie there with minor”.
