Willie Mullins celebrated yet another triumphant homecoming as I Am Maximus was proudly paraded around Leighlinbridge last night.
Adding to the spectacle was the familiar sight of jockey Paul Townend, who previously rode the winner Galopin Des Champs at Cheltenham, now aboard I Am Maximus, skillfully guiding him to victory.
Reflecting on this recent success, Townend shared his sentiments with KCLR, emphasizing the unique significance of the Grand National,
“Look, you need so much luck in a Grand National. You know, grade ones and gold cups and things are special, and every day special, but the Grand National is a bit unique in that, it’s the race you grow up watching and you build the fences at home for, so yeah, it is extra special.”
An utterly epic Grand National.

So many chances going into the final fence and I Am Maximus prevails.
Jumps racing at its brilliant best.
