Ballyhale Shamrocks Joey Holden says their experience of being in All Ireland Club finals will give them no advantage this Sunday as their opposition have been there as well.

Ballyhale are going for their seventh title while St Thomas of Galway are going for their second, it’s six years since they lifted the cup.

Joey says the experience is a help and a hindrance “It is and it isn’t, when I played my first game at U11 there was one ball thrown in , when we play here (Croke Park) on St Patrick’s day there’s going to be one ball thrown in as well, at the end of the day its a game of hurling”.

“We’ve trained hard, so what we’ve done on the training field should be more of the build up than anything else, trusting lads that are around you, so that’s what the build up is, I suppose it helps a bit the experience, the four teams in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day have that experience, so its no advantage to anyone”.

Joey said “Its about just going out, enjoy the game of hurling, practice what you’ve been practicing on the training field and try to bring everything on the day”.

We have live commentary of the game here on KCLR with thanks to Mulberry Stoves.

We also have a special preview on Friday night in Carroll’s of Knocktopher, see below.
