St. Patricks Ballyragget Intermediate manager Jim Lyng says that Graigue-Ballycallan get a bounce from the substitutes that they are introducing.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s Intermediate County Final, Jim says they have proven to be a formidable challenge throughout the Championship.
“There is no doubt in each of the three matches they came good in the 2nd half and for such a young team not to panic when they were 6 and 7 points down and indeed against Glenmore.
“They pegged back a goal very early on and had that goal conceded again within minutes and you would have thought that might break them, but they came really really strongly to win by 6 or 7 points having been 7 points down.
“They seem to have a very very strong panel and they seem to be getting a bounce from their bench for each of the games so they are going to be a formidable challenge whoever they have on the field,” he said.
Jim also says that County Finals should be brought forward to an earlier date.
“I think any player playing the game of hurling be Club or County would like to be playing it in Summer conditions, good dry conditions and I think certainly it is about time that club players got a look in at it.
“I think everyone wins if the games are played at a time of the year when conditions are more likely to be favorable,” he concluded.
