It was a busy weekend of football action in Carlow across the weekend with the spots in this year’s football championship semi-finals now determined.

Despite leading for long periods, Kildavin-Clonegal lost out in their Michael Lyng Motors senior football championship quarter final to Eire Óg on a 1-14 to 1-10 scoreline.

Naomh Eoin, with their best display of the season so far, qualified for the intermediate football championship semi-final with a convincing thirteen point win over St. Andrew’s, the final score there seeing Naomh Eoin run out 3-14 to 0-10 winners.

In Junior A action, Rathvilly will have to do it all over again after Leighlinbridge came from behind to force a 3-3 to 0-12 draw while in Junior B action, O’Hanrahan’s too forced a draw with Naomh Eoin at 1-09 apiece, scoring 1-07 in the last half to set up a replay.
