The fifth and final round of the Carlow camogie club championships took place over the weekend, setting up this year’s county semi-finals at adult senior and junior levels.
History may be on the side of perennial championship Myshall but there are still two key games to go on the senior side of things and maybe, just maybe, 2023 is the year for someone else to take their crown.
That said, they had a resounding 6-12 to 1-5 win over Mount Leinster Rangers at the weekend. The weekend also saw St. Mullins beat Ballinkillen 4-10 to 0-3 while Naomh Brid were too strong for Muinebheag in a 3-14 to 3-5 finish.
The semi-final pairings for the Azap Print Senior Championship see Myshall face Muinebheag while Naomh Brid take on St. Mullins. Both games will be played on Saturday 23 September at the Netwatch Training Centre in Fenagh.
On the junior side of things, weekend results saw Myshall edge Kildavin-Clonegal by a single score, that game finishing 0-8 to 1-4. They’ll meet again in the semi-final stages with Burren Rangers set to take on Naomh Brid – Setanta.
The junior semi-finals will take place on Sunday 24 September.
