Carlow Senior Football Captain John Murphy says that the success of the Senior Footballers in recent years have brought the support onto a greater level.

Speaking to KCLR ahead of Saturday’s Leinster Championship clash against Meath, John says the Juveniles have been excited by the success they have had.

He said “Nearly the whole Carlow Rising thing really took it off and really brought it to a new level and now we talk about Leitrim Rising and it’s all the same thing”.

“You can definitely see it even in the schools and even say my own say nephews and nieces at home, they are all gone football mad while before they mightn’t have been as keen, but now they seem to be all into it and sure it’s great like”.
