Hanover Harps Junior Manager Paul Dowling says that the Carlow Clubs in the Premier Division are as good as anyone in the country.
Speaking to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s last 16 FAI Junior Cup clash at home to Ayrfield United, Paul says there are fine margins between the top teams.
Paul said “There is no reason why a team in Carlow can’t go all the way. You see Evergreen there from Kilkenny getting beaten in the final of the FAI two years ago. Evergreen are a super outfit, but they are not miles ahead of anybody in Carlow”.
He added “You will get certain chances in these types of games and if you don’t take your chances, you’re in trouble because if the other teams do take their chances, that’s genuinely the only difference between the top teams”.
“You will never see a five or six nil in a game of this level coming this close to the end of the tournament, every team in it is going to get stronger every time you go around”.
