Carlow Referees Association Secretary Mick Walsh admits it’s concerning that there is a shortage of referees in the Carlow & District League.
There needs to be at least 10 people to do the referees Course, Mick says it’s a disadvantage that Carlow are not getting any referees.
Mick said “And up to about three or four years ago, normally we get five or six at the end of the season that would look to referee, you get maybe two or three of them that drop out after a year, but you woulds always get one or two to hold on and it keeps the branch ticking over and the numbers up, but since the change, we just can’t get them at the moment and that’s it”.
